The word bipolar itself describes its meaning. The word Bi means two and Polar means extremities. Bipolar can be defined as a recurrent shift in mood, behavior, thought process, and energy. The amygdala of bipolar is overstimulated so as per caution it’s always better to avoid arguing with a bipolar person. The prevalence of this disorder around the world is 1% despite the fact of ethnicity or nationality. The bipolar mostly followed by the depressive episode. In one episode of bipolar disorder, people experience over-excitement and are hyper energetic but in the depressive episode, they feel unhappy, hopeless, and slack.


Phases of Bipolar Disorder


There are three terms commonly used when talking about bipolar disorder depressive episode, manic episode, and hypomania episode.


The Manic Episode.


People usually get hyper, impulsive, over-excited, and assured because of this their decision-making ability also gets distorted. In this episode, irritability and hyperactivity are common features. Not everyone but most people experienced hallucinations and delusions in this phase of their bipolar.


The Hypomania Episode.


This phase is milder than the manic episode and it is not followed by hallucinations and delusions. Symptoms’ intensity is not enough that they interfere with the daily functioning of lives.


The Depressive Episode.


The symptoms of this episode are the same as Major depression disorder. it involves consistent sadness, hopelessness, lack of interest, and energy. In this episode, a person doesn’t have a manic or hypomania episode.
